Death Stranding is an upcoming video game being developed by Kojima Productions and to be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. It is creator and director Hideo Kojima and his company’s first game following the 2015 disbandment and termination of their contract from Konami. It will star American actor Norman Reedus, who serves as the basis for the main protagonist. It was officially announced at Sony’s E3 2016 conference in June of that year.
Kojima announced the game at Sony’s conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 through a trailer, using the song “I’ll Keep Coming” by the Icelandic band Low Roar. The trailer featured American actor Norman Reedus, who will serve as the basis for the main protagonist. According to Kojima, one of the key aspects of the trailer is the idea of a connection between life and death. The trailer also featured themes and visuals of cetacean stranding.
